Yesterday in Social Studies, we had Potato Day. It was quite interesting. We each had our own potatoes and had to write something that distinguish them from others and then they were taken from us. Each person then was given a description of someone's potato and they were supposed to try to get the person the right potato that was their potato. It was fun. We were given many ideas that we could do in the classroom that revolve around potatoes. We also measured ourselves with potatoes to see how tall we were in potato measurement and how big our feet were.
This would be a great idea to implement all day long. As teachers we also learned that we could do a subject all day on pretty much anything that we want and just use it in all of the subjects throughout the entire day. What a great idea.
We also have had three birthdays in the last few weeks. Laura Ward and Linda Marriott( one of our instructors) had their birthday last week. Today is Ann Van West's birthday. We hope you all have had and will have great birthdays.
See all of you after Spring Break.

Social Studies Final
I know that the Social Studies Final is the last thing on our list of things to worry about right now.
However, I found this web site that helped me learn USA Geography.
The site is designed to be a game that really works like an assessment. Before it allows a player to move on to the next level the player must get a passing score.
I just thought I would mention it now so if by some miracle you have a few minutes you could squeeze in a game or two that would help with studying for the final.

Free drinks
Last week was another crazy week but one thing that sticks out in our mind is Thursday morning. Mark Marriott( our Social Studies) professor told us all to follow him down to the store at the Sharwan Smith Center and he was buying us all drinks. This isn't something that happens every day and we don't just have a few in the class. He bought drinks or a treat for all 32 of us. I was impressed. I think we are all enjoying his class, and we are actually learning along with it.
Don't you all think that it would be nice if all college professors bought free drinks???? I know in the classes that I have had, I have never had any professor buy drinks for the students.
Thanks, Professor Marriott, ( Mark, Mr. Marriott). We appreciate it.
